COUNSELING vs. COACHING
What Coaching is and isn't:
Coaching is not psychotherapy and professional referrals will be given if needed.
Life coaching does not treat mental disorders as defined by the American Psychiatric Association or American Medical Association. I understand that life coaching is not a substitute for counseling, psychotherapy, or any other mental health care or substance abuse treatment and I will not use it in place of any form of therapy.
A life coach develops a relationship with the client that is designed to facilitate the creation/development of personal, professional or business goals and to develop and carry out a strategy/plan for achieving those goals.
Life coaching is a comprehensive process that may involve all areas of my life, including work, finances, health, relationships, education and recreation. Deciding how to handle these issues and implement your choices are exclusively your responsibility.
Life coaching is not to be used in lieu of professional advice. Please seek a professional for guidance in areas of legal, medical, financial, business, spiritual or other matters.
All information will be kept confidential unless I state otherwise in writing except as required by law.
